Finalmente 6 obras de los alumnos de la Escuela Simeó Rabassa de Martorelles estuvieron seleccionadas y estarán expuestas en el MOMA hasta el 14 de mayo. Es un gran éxito alcanzado por esta escuela y sus alumnos, en el marco del novedoso programa educativo del MOMA sobre «Green learning: cultivating ecological system».

Finally, 6 works by the students of the Simeó Rabassa School in Martorelles were selected and will be exhibited at the MOMA until May 14. It is a great success achieved by this school and its students, within the framework of MOMA’s innovative educational program on «Green learning: cultivating ecological system».

Finalment 6 obres dels alumnes de l’Escola Simeó Rabassa de Martorelles van estar seleccionades i estaran exposades al MOMA fins al 14 de maig. És un gran èxit assolit per aquesta escola i els seus alumnes, en el marc del novedós programa educatiu del MOMA sobre «Green learning: cultivating ecological system».

La Escuela de Martorelles es la única participante de fuera de EE.UU. Nos gustaría mucho que este hito pudiera tener algo más de eco de cara a animar a escuelas catalanas a impulsar intercambios con entidades de renombre internacional, motivando al mismo tiempo al alumnado.
Un fuerte agradecimiento y felicitaciones por el buen trabajo hecho por la Directora, los profesores y las niñas y niños de la Escuela Simeó Rabasa!

The Martorelles School is the only participant from outside the US. We would very much like this milestone to have a little more impact in order to encourage Catalan schools to promote exchanges with internationally renowned entities, while motivating students.

Thank you 2023!

El 2023 ha sido un año de cambios y retos. El primer cuatrimestre viajamos desde la Costa Oeste (Anza, Sur de California) a la Costa Este (Nueva York). Ese viaje fue apasionante y enriquecedor, tuvimos muchos contratiempos pero también muchos aprendizajes, y lo más importante es que llegamos sanos y a salvo a NYC!

2023 has been a year of changes and challenges. The first quarter we traveled from the West Coast(Anza, South California) to the East Coast (New York). That trip was exciting and enriching, we had many setbacks but also many learnings, and the most important thing is that we arrived safely and healthy in NYC!

El 5 de Octubre del 2023 celebramos nuestra boda Mr. & Mrs. Lima!! brindamos con cava, paseamos por el río Hudson y comimos pastel de chocolate hecho con amor por nuestros amig@s! Gracias a nuestra familia y todas las personas que nos mandaron sus cariños y saludos!

On October 5, 2023 we celebrated our wedding Mr. & Mrs. Lima!! We toasted with cava, walked along the Hudson River and ate chocolate cake made with love by our friends! Thanks to our family and all the people who sent us their Love and Greetings.

El último cuatrimestre del año 2023 participé en el workshop de Pensamiento Ecológico y Diseño Sostenible: un taller para profesores de K-12, que organizó el MOMA (Museo de arte Moderno de NYC). Este workshop se realizó en 3 días, el primero visitamos el antiguo vertedero de basura de la ciudad, hoy convertido en el Parque Natural de Freshkills. El segundo día visitamos la exposición «Emerging Ecologies» y realizamos un laboratorio de creatividad. Y por último el tercer día visitamos al arquitecto Chris Dameron y su equipo, uno de los pocos estudios en USA que trabaja con conceptos de economía circular donde el material de construcción se encuentra en el sitio y se tiene cuidado de considerar cómo se podrían usar esos materiales una vez finalizada la vida útil del edificio.

The last quarter of 2023 I participated in the Ecological Thinking and Sustainable Design workshop: a workshop for K-12 teachers, organized by the MOMA (NYC Museum of Modern Art). This workshop was held in 3 days, the first we visited the city's old garbage dump, now converted into the Freshkills Natural Park. On the second day we visited the "Emerging Ecologies" exhibition and held a creativity laboratory. And finally on the third day we visited architect Chris Dameron and his team, one of the few studios in the USA that works with circular economy concepts where the construction material is found on site and care is taken to consider how those materials could be used once the useful life of the building has ended.

Cada vez que me embarco en algún proyecto con mi amiga Nevenka Pavic disfrutamos y aprendemos juntas. En esta ocasión la acompañé a la UAB, para realizar un taller de “stencil” con los participantes del campus de verano Itaca. Aquí algunas imágenes de los dos días que duró el taller.

Every time I embark on a project with my friend Nevenka Pavic we enjoy and learn together. On this occasion I accompanied her to the UAB, to hold a «stencil» workshop with the participants of the Itaca summer campus. Here some images of the two days the workshop lasted.

OMA Training

El pasado mes de agosto del 2018 viajé a Oxford (Ohio) EE.UU, para realizar el “practicum” del curso OMA (Abriendo Mentes a través del Arte) de la Universidad Miami, que se realizó en la comunidad de ancianos “The Knolls of Oxford”. Con este curso he adquirido habilidades y herramientas basadas en el lenguaje del arte abstracto, para ejecutar este programa con estrategias para reclutar y mantener voluntarios. Last August of 2018 I traveled to Oxford (Ohio) USA, to perform the «practicum» of the OMA course (Opening Minds through Art) of Miami University, which took place in the community of elders «The Knolls of Oxford «. With this course I have acquired skills and tools based on the language of abstract art, to execute this program with strategies to recruit and maintain volunteers. Basura artística

El domingo 8 de abril hemos recogido basura en Playa del Carmen desde el amanecer. Caminando desde Punta Esmeralda hasta la playa del Centro y limpiando la playa a nuestro paso. Con parte de la basura recogida, hemos elaborado un mosaico, a modo de denuncia y reflexión sobre el uso y abuso del consumo irrespetuoso del plástico y otros elementos altamente contaminantes. Este mosaico ha sido realizado de manera cooperativa con los niños y adultos que estaban en la playa y se animaron a participar. Los artistas colaboradores en el mosaico fuimos: Giovanna Gonzalez, Ronald Bravo, Decken Kodeak y yo, Momo Montserrat. Agradecimientos al Staff del Croc y voluntarios por su ayuda en la recogida de basura. La reflexión de esta jornada ha sido que las especies más peligrosas de nuestras playas y nuestros mares son; plásticos, latas, cristales y colillas!! Y el mensaje es claro: EVOLUCIONE Y NO POLUCIONE 🌻🌻

On Sunday, April 8th, we have collected garbage in Playa del Carmen since dawn. Walking from Punta Esmeralda to the beach of the Center and cleaning the beach at our pace. With part of the garbage collected, we have drawn up a complaint and reflection on the use and abuse of disrespectful consumption of plastic and other highly polluting elements, all synthesized in a mosaic that we have developed in a cooperative way, children and adults who were on the beach and were encouraged to participate. The collaborating artists in the mosaic were: Giovanna Gonzalez, Ronald Bravo, Decken Kodeak and I, Momo Montserrat. Thanks to the Croc Staff and volunteers for their help in collecting garbage. The reflection of this day has been that the most dangerous species of our beaches and our seas are; plastics, cans, crystals and butts! And the message is clear: EVOLUTION AND DON’T POLLUTION 🌻🌻

viva el ARTE NO al PLÁSTICO

“Juntxs cabezas, corazones… manos y pies!”
Hola amigxs,
Bajo el lema “ARTE NO PLÁSTICO”, les invito a unirse a la limpia de playa, que se llevará a cabo este próximo domingo 8 de abril, en Playa del Carmen (México), llamado del colectivo Varios Barrios, al que me sumo. Les dejo el Cronograma en el que pueden ver el horario y lugares dónde estaremos.

Nos juntaremos en la Punta Esmeralda para ver el amanecer 🌅 y tomar un desayuno colectivo (cada persona trae una fruta… o lo que quiera para tomar y compartir).
Comienza la recogida a las 8:00h en Punta Esmeralda y de ahí hasta aprox las 13:00h llegaremos a la playa del centro.
Con la basura recolectada por la mañana, elaboraremos de 15:00 a 18:00h un mensaje de conciencia medioambiental a modo de mosaico. Esta actividad se realizará en la playa frente a la escultura de Playa del Carmen.

La actividad de limpia de playa será todo el día, con distintas actividades a lo largo de la jornada del día 8 de abril, desde el amanecer 🌅 hasta la puesta del sol 🌞 puedes venir con quien quieras 👫👭👬👨‍👩‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👦‍👦👩‍👦👯‍♂️👯‍♀️🧚🏾‍♂️🧜🏾‍♂️🧙🏽‍♀️🧟‍♀️🧛🏼‍♀️ Los esperamos a todxs!! “Together heads, hearts … hands and feet”

Hello friends,
Under the motto «ART NO PLASTIC», I invite you to join the beach clean, which will be held this Sunday, April 8, in Playa del Carmen (Mexico), called the collective Varios Barrios, which I join. I leave the Chronogram where you can see the schedule and places where we will be.
We will meet at Punta Esmeralda to see the sunrise and have a collective breakfast (each person brings a fruit … or whatever they want to drink and share).
The pick-up begins at 8:00 p.m. at Punta Esmeralda and from there until around 1:00 p.m. we will arrive at the center beach.
With the garbage collected in the morning, we will elaborate from 15:00 to 18:00 a message of environmental awareness as a mosaic. This activity will take place on the beach in front of the sculpture of Playa del Carmen.
The activity of beach clean will be all day, with different activities throughout the day of April 8, from dawn to sunset 🌞 you can come with whoever you want 👫👭👬👨‍👩‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👧👨‍👦‍👦👩‍👦👯‍♂️👯‍♀️🧚🏾‍♂️🧜🏾‍♂️🧙🏽‍♀️🧟‍♀️🧛🏼‍♀️.

El pasado martes 13 de marzo fui invitada por mi amigo Alberto Franco a la Escuela “Waldorf del mar” en Cancun (México), para realizar unas actividades de movimiento (a partir de mis pinturas de viaje) con los niños y niñas de entre 7 y 12 años. Fue realmente impresionante poder ver la creatividad, escenificando, jugando y danzando mis pinturas. Aquí unas imágenes de la sesión.

Last Tuesday, March 13th, I was invited by my friend Alberto Franco to the “Waldorf del Mar” School in Cancun (Mexico) to carry out some movement activities (from my travel paintings) with children between 7 and 12 years old. It was really impressive to see creativity, staging, playing and dancing my paintings. Here some images of the session.
